Creating a cultural moment celebrating 20 years of design partnerships - through the fans that made it possible.
Target sparked the democratization of design two decades ago, as the first retailer to forge partnerships with well-known and emerging designers to offer high style without the high price tag. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its first design partnership and the 175 that followed, Target opened up the archives for a limited-edition collection with 300 pieces from 20 of its past designers. To celebrate the occasion, Chandelier Creative was engaged to assist with campaign concept and execution. I was part of the initial concept work and strategic architecture - helping to ensure we could unite the likes of Mizrahi, Missoni, McQueen, and Marimekko into one campaign and celebration. One particularly rewarding artifact created was telling the 20th story through archival images and interviews with visionaries and their superfans - all captured in a limited-edition book anyone can own.
