Converse came to Vice & Virtue with an open and audacious brief - unleash an own-able global content platform that moves youth culture forward through the celebration of the iconic Chuck Taylor shoe.

Working with my creative partner - and Vice’s best-in-class editorial, production and sales teams - we unlocked a big idea that transcended specific markets and gave Chuck Taylors an authentic and credible role in telling culture-led stories that leveraged the entire Vice ecosystem and got in front of a massive millennial target audience globally.

Under The Influence, a content platform made possible by Converse, traces some of the most important music scenes of our time, exploring the people, bands, and styles that changed the course of music forever. Narrated by modern-day punk legend Tim Armstrong (Rancid, Operation Ivy, Transplants), the platform delves deep into the worlds of New York Hardcore, British 2Tone Ska, and German Krautrock to find how these scenes were created, and how they continue to shape art, music, and culture today.

The show is supported by the brand and is fully integrated into the Noisey ecosystem, including social channels and co-promotional advertising, as well as activated across the VICE network. Season two of this series became a broadcast television program on VICELAND.
